In June 2024, our California state leads, Anika and Wesley ran a bake sale and sold cookies, brownies, and more to raise $511 for Central California Adaptive Sports Center! You can find images of their fundraiser in the Past Events Photo Gallery!
In March 2023, our Texas State Leads, Nidhi and Priyanka, sold over 350 cookies door to door in their neighborhoods raising $120! They donated this money to their local YMCA Adaptive Program in Sugarland, TX. You can view some of the photos from their fundraiser in the Past Events Photo Gallery tab.
In December 2022, our Pennsylvania State Leads, Twinkle Khanna and Angel Khanna, held a bake sale where they made and sold chocolate covered pretzels and cookies in order to raise money for Schrieber Pediatric Center, a physical therapy and speech-language therapy center in their local area. They ended up raising a grand total of $330 through their fundraising efforts. Some images of their fundraiser can be viewed in the Past Events Photo Gallery tab.
In July 2022, our California state leads, Brian Kim and Erin Chae raised a total of $168 for the Central California Adaptive Sports Center! They baked and sold cookies in their respective towns! We were able to donate a total of $300 to the Center in August. Some images of the fundraiser are included in the Past Events Photo Gallery tab.
In July 2022, our Missouri State Leads, Sriya and Kinley, baked and sold cookies door to door raising a total of $360 for Dance Ability in Columbia, Missouri. This money will help to provide dance materials, like ballet shoes for example, for the dancers at Dance Ability. Some pictures from the fundraiser are included in the Past Events Photo Gallery tab.
In May 2022, our New Jersey State lead, Aditya Pokala collected donations from his community, raising a total of $310 for the Arc of Bergen and Passaic, an adaptive program in his local area. We were able to reach this amount through multiple generous donations!
In April 2022, our Illinois state leads, Veda and Caroline, hosted a Holi celebration at their school! They gave out color powder packets and invited their peers to join them in celebrating the holiday. Veda and Caroline raised a total of $1,072 for Adaptive Programming at their local YMCA. This money will help support the various sports Adaptive Programming offers, including swimming and gymnastics.
In May 2021, our Maine State lead, Delia Fravert collected eggs that her chickens laid and sold them! She sold them in dozens outside of her dad's work and many people decided to support the cause! Delia cared for both the chickens and the eggs and raised $200 for Maine Adaptive Sports and Recreation. Maine Adaptive is committed to their mission, and offers a large variety of adaptive sports like cycling, paddling, and tennis! In April 2021, our Illinois state leads, Veda Kommineni and Caroline James, planted a variety of seeds in about 100 pots and raised flowers. The two nourished their plants until July, and went door to door in their neighborhoods selling the plants. They also took pre-orders and delivered those as well. Caroline and Veda accumulated $768.62 in donations in which the gave to Adaptive Programming at their local YMCA. Adaptive programming offers different adaptive sports, including gymnastics.
On June 19, 2021, one of our Missouri State leads, Sriya Pokala, performed at an Arangetram, a type of graduation event for traditional Indian dance. She set up a table outside of the auditorium at which she held the event, and people who wished to donate did so. Our New Jersey lead, Aditya Pokala, helped out by running that table while the performance was going on. Kinley Schade, our other Missouri State lead helped with the table set up and informational board. With many generous donations, the team was able to raise a total of $4000 for Dance Ability!
Our Southern California Leads, Brian Kim and Erin Chae, baked and sold chocolate chip and meringue cookies! They walked from door to door, while taking COVID precautions, on June 12, 2021, and accumulated a total of $113 for the Central California Adaptive Sports Center! This program offers a wide range of adaptive sports!
In May 2021, our New Jersey state lead, Aditya Pokala, performed at his piano recital. At the recital, Aditya set up a table at which he sold pre-packaged cupcakes to people who attended the event. He collected both cash and online donations, both of which accumulated $280! Aditya donated the money he raised to the Arc of Bergen and Passaic, and adaptive sports program in his area. Our North California Lead, Hailey Harris, raised a total of $70 for the Central California Adaptive Sports Center in April of 2021 after receiving some generous donations!!
Our West Virginia State Leads, Will Madden and Hunter Miley, raised a total of $220 after receiving multiple donations! The money that they raised went to Special Olympics West Virginia which is part of the Special Olympics global movement that promotes inclusivity! Our New Jersey state lead, Aditya Pokala, raised $1,026 for the Arc of Bergen and Passaic who are dedicated to assisting individuals and their families with developmental and intellectual disabilities! Our Florida Lead, Kartikeye Gupta, kicked off the new year by fundraising for Central Florida Dreamplex, an adaptive sports program which you can find more about in the ”Organizations we Support“ tab! In November 2020, our Pennsylvania State lead, Navya Reddy, baked and sold chocolate chip and sugar cookies! She made sure to take COVID-19 precautions by taking pre-orders and delivering the cookies to the donors' doorsteps. Navya ended up raising a total of $430, which she donated to the Pennsylvania Center for Adapted Sports, or PCAS. The organization currently operates 13 sport-and-wellness programs year-round including, skiing, cycling, climbing, kayaking, rowing, sitting volleyball, yoga, swimming, hockey, triathlon, and track and field.
Sriya Pokala and Kinley Schade, our Missouri State leads-and directors-organized a virtual race in November 2020. Participants chose a distance to walk, bike, run, or wheel, and "raced" on their own time on November 14. This virtual race fundraiser took place in Edwardsville, Illinois to raise money for Dance Ability, which is an adaptive dance program in Columbia, Missouri. Our Illinois leads, Veda and Caroline, raised $290!
The fundraiser Cupcakes for a Cause raised a total of $1,315 for the Disabled Athlete Sports Association (DASA). During this fundraiser, our Missouri leads, Kinley and Sriya, baked and delivered over 300 cupcakes, making sure to take precautions for COVID-19.
