Difference One Step at a Time is a certified 501c3 nonprofit organization that supports adaptive sports programs throughout the nation to promote equal opportunities! These programs modify sports in a way that people with different needs are able to participate. Some of these activities include wheelchair basketball, swimming, track, soccer, and wheelchair rugby.

The People Behind This

Hi, we’re Sriya Pokala and Kinley Schade, and we are seniors at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri. We started our journey by founding a club in at our school in that promotes inclusivity within the special education classrooms at the elementary school level in 2019. As our grew, we became even more connected to our cause and decided to create a website to help raise money for different adaptive sports programs in our local area. We slowly expanded our mission to the multi-state organization that it is now. With our goals in mind, we became a 501c3 non-profit organization. We hope to continue to make a difference in our community taking one step at a time!
